Finding Your Way Around

MinkNote gives you several ways to find your notes and move around quickly. You can search across everything, filter a journal, find text within a note, or browse using folders and tags.

There are three ways to search:

  • Search all notes (⌘⇧F) — Search across every journal.
  • Filter the current journal (⌘⌥F) — Quickly narrow down the notes you’re currently browsing.
  • Find in the current note (⌘F) — Find text within the note you’re reading or editing.

Search works from the keyboard too. Use ↑ and ↓ to move through results and Return to open a note.

You can move around MinkNote without reaching for the mouse:

  • ⌃⌥← / ⌃⌥→ — Move between the sidebar, note list, and editor
  • ↑ / ↓ — Move through notes and search results
  • ← / → — Collapse or expand folders
  • Return — Open the selected note or search result

Sort Your Notes

Use the Sort control above the note list to arrange notes by Title, Created, or Modified.

You can reverse the order at any time, for example from A–Z to Z–A, or newest to oldest.

All Notes, Favourites, and Tags

All Notes brings together notes from every journal in one place.

Mark notes you return to often as Favourites, or use tags to group related notes across different journals and folders.
